There is a very short but magical moment in the Kimberley’ in the Dry Season, at first light when the stars begin to fade as the morning sun approaches the horizon, infusing the land with a million shades of mauve. Often called ‘Blue Hour’, the name and light implies a certain calm, which in many ways, juxtaposes this grizzled, old, leaning Boab tree and the stories it could tell. Photographed on the Derby Marsh during the Eta Aquariid meteor shower on the 7th May 2022. Set in a locally handmade Jarrah frame.
